Diwali is almost here, and without a doubt, all of us are eagerly waiting to reunite with our loved ones. The festival is celebrated to mark the arrival of Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshman back to Ayodhya after 14 years. With all the fun and festivities that Diwali brings into our lives, it also teaches us something. We rarely go deep into the wisdom and lessons that the festival teaches but the teachings remain with us long after the lights are out, and the sweets are eaten.
To Always Embrace Positivity in Life
The bright
lights and lamps that we lit are not just to remove the darkness from our
homes, but also from our souls. We should embrace light to remove the darkness
of negativity from our life.
To Internally Cleanse
Every
year as we clean our homes to welcome Goddess Lakshmi, we should also clean our
minds, and heart from all negativity, bad habits, anger, hate and jealousy.
The Importance of Good Relations
The
sweets that we exchange with our friends and family have a deeper meaning – they
tell us there should always be sweetness among our loved ones, and those sweets
are a way to exchange our good intentions, positive thoughts, and love.
To Welcome Change and New Beginnings
The new
clothes and appliances that we buy during Diwali, signify new beginnings. It also
signifies that is never too late to start afresh.
The Triumph of Positivity Over Negativity
And most
importantly Diwali signifies that good will always triumph over evil. We must
have patience, no matter how long the wait is, time changes and things will be
favourable.
With all these teachings in our heart, let’s make this Diwali a really special one!
